how can i find my old eta number? qu 9 on form 47sp
Hi everyone
just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation?
I am filling out the form 47sp and got to question 9. It asks:
have you ... previously been to Australia, held or currently hold a visa for travel to Australia?
No
or Yes Give details
Well i have been to Australia in July 07 but i got an online ETA not a visa and i have no idea what the number was as i think i threw away the reference number i was given. I never actually had a letter or a visa number label. My passport was scanned electronically when i got to Oz and I was on my way!!
Anyone knwo what i should put? or how i can find an eta number without the reference number. It was just one i had scrawled on a bit of paper and then threw away as it was all onscreen.
Any thoughts gratefulyl recevied as im going a bit mad with form filling
Anna
xx

Hi Anna
When if filled out that form i just put the month and year of my holidays to Oz (and only thought afterwards that had i checked in my passport i could have filled out the exact dates), but didn't have the ETA numbers. I guessed they could work out the ETA numbers from this if they needed to.

No need to worry - just grab the dates from your passport if you can (I was fortunate in that I keep old passports for ever), and thus got them all this way. They are not that worried about ETA numbers as they can access these - but if you put down the dates it makes life easier.
The key thing for them is that a) you have actually been to Australia since it does show willing etc and b) that you have not been to other dodgy countries countless times in the past...
I'm sure it will be fine - and we've all been through the form filling. Wait and see if they ask for Form 80 - that's the fun one!

Hi All
Just reading this thread & wondered if you could help. On the 475 visa application it asks for the place of issue. As we got a ETA visa as well, do you know what to put here? There is no option for ETA only cities from around the world. Do we put London or Brisbane (where we were visiting)? I have emailed DIAC but just waiting for reply.
Thanks in advance
Mark

We emailed Diac about this & the reply just said to leave place of issue & number blank, I am at work tonight but will try to copy & paste the email tomorrow if we still have it.

If you've kept all of your e-mail, you should have all the details you need somewhere in your Inbox You should also be able to find dates in your passport but if you haven't got that, from what I've read on here, approximate dates (month/year) will be fine.
