Hiya try not to worry too much until there is something to worry about, I know some people that are over weight that have got their visa's and other people that have health concerns that have also got their visa.
Have a great Christmas I am sure you will be here for the next one!!

Hi
When we booked our meds we received a note which said that if we had a BMI of over 40 further tests may be required. The tests listed included things like blood glucose (diabetes), thyroid function test, blood pressure and others (sorry I can not remember them all) as I am big lady myself (with a BMI of pretty dam near if not more than 40) I was worried. I didn't have any additional tests and the panel Dr just said everything was fine. We passed our medicals and got our visa with no problems.
I've not heard of anyone being asked to loose weight before their visa is granted.
My advice is try not to worry.
Good luck

Hi there
im too of the robust size and was worried when i went to my medicals... I had a very good doctor who put my mind at rest, he said ''yes you are very cuddly but have no health problems and have a good life in oz''.... So i took that as i'd have no problems with the visa... But i was worried until i got the telephone call stating ... ''congratulations on the visa''
try to stay positive and good luck xxx
started may 07 with visa/police/meds nov 07
visa granted 3/07/08 validated sept 08
arrived in perth feb 09 and loving it

I had this problem, as they had ticked box b on my medical, which means further investigation, my xray showed that my heart was enlarged, so had to have some more tests done, I was worried sick that the rest of my family were ok, and I could be the one to stop us getting into Oz!! anyway everything was fine and we were granted our visa.
I know it's easy for me to say, but like I said earlier try not to worry until there is something to worry about.
Keep us informed
