Should i have operation before medical - will i fail if i'm not recovered??

Hi,

Hopefully in the next few weeks i will be having my medical for a 457 visa. The thing is, i'm due for an operation on my knee in a couple weeks which will leave me with a limp for a good few months. Will i fail the medical as i'm not 100% fit? Any opinions/experiences will be greatfully received.

Hi Andy, My o/h had a knee reconstruction (ACL) whilst we were applying and it didn't affect his medical or application at all. Funniest thing we found was the doctor still had to weigh him - with his leg in plaster from groin to toe.
