state sponsorship confirmation

Hi there
we have been thinking about going for state sponsorship (Queensland) as we are only on the 115 points for 175 so 176 seems to be calling LOL
does any one have any idea how long it takes for them to get back to you after sending application this is just for the first instance of being told yes or no to state sponsorship,
and then is the wait once visa application is made around the same amount of time as the 175 or longer,
any advice would be great :idea:

Hi,

Our agent sent our state sponsorship form to Queensland last Friday, and from what I understand it takes just 2 or 3 weeks to come back and this is your sponshorship done. I think the wait for the 176 visa is round about the same time as for a 175.

just a thought, but are you doing the english exam? If your not, then you maybe able to gain that valuable 5 points from passing that enabling you a 175 visa instead of a 176?!

We were 5 points short as well.
Definatley want to go back and live on the Gold Coast, so Queensland sponsorship was the obvious answer.
Quite simple to fill in the forms-I was told to really go to town on places we had visited, estate agents visited, show knowledge of local living expenses, house prices, costs etc. This is to show that you have researched fully, and are aware of the area, so you don't decide to move on when you get there, I beleive!
Anyway, had a letter back with approval in less than 2 weeks

hi yes tried the ielts sadly 'writing' didn't get the 7.0 needed and the next test isn't for a couple more months

thats reassuring if the wait is only a couple of weeks rather than months cheers
