Medicals before online application

Hello,

Do you have to submit hte online application before doing the medicals? Does anyone see any major problems except the validity of the medicals is only 12 months?

My reason for asking this is that we have almost got everything for the online application, however we won’t be able to submit the online application before the health check and I have already booked the medicals in advance.

Hi we applied for the 175 visa and the 457 at the same time. (complicated! I was the 457 visa holder and wanted my husband to 'take over the visa' so had to re apply for the 457 and just got it yesterday)

We applied on line first then booked the medicals which was about 2 weeks after we submitted the application. Everything has gone smoothly. Not sure why you cannot submit before the medicals we certainly did not?

You need a TRN to submit your medicals. Also have you seen teh speed (or lack of it) that they are processing at ? I'd wait until asked to get your meds done before doing them, rather than front load in the current slow moving climate.

E.g. we applied Nov last year meds done Mar, CO but still no decision. will be pushing it and may have to do a validation visit first.

In this case, I agree with heieup - do online application and wait for your meds to be requested.
My application went in last November and medicals were also done in November. We will also also be pushing it for time and may have to do a validation visit.

Same here, we applied for Visa in November 07 and meds done and finalised by Feb 08, our medicals were actually done on the 1st December 07, which means we have to validate our visas (when we finally get them) by 1st Dec 08, hasnt really given us time to sell house etc.. especially with the way the current market is!! Meds and Police checks do not take long to get done and processed anyway so personally I would wait until you were called for them, although lots of people front load!

We decided to post pone the medicals. Furthermore, Alan Collect published an article on Go Matilda - apparently processing of skill migration is a bit slow at the moment.
