Hi Karen,

Thanks for your reply last week, I contacted Suzanne and I am looking into doing the same course as you. What list is the "Office Manager" occupation on? We would be going down the state sponsorship route as we only have 85 points at the moment which I am hoping to up to 90 with the course but I am unsure as to what occupation I would go under? Can't find "Office Manager" on any list although it's probably in front of my eyes!

My head is spinning with all this at the moment, any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks again, and by the way CONGRATULATIONS on getting the extra 5 points!!

Hi

Office Manager is on the SOL and the ASCO Code is 3291-11. If you need any help with anything, just pm me.

Good luck. Suzanne is great and I had Fiona as my assessor, again great.

Hi Karen,

I've only just seen this thread, but well done you! It definitely goes to show that if you have just a little bit of determination and savvy then you can make things work out for the best. Anything's possible if you want it bad enough.

I'm clicking you chicken for this!

Where is QD are you off to?

Kate

Hi Karen

Are you working now? I only ask cos I know I could get a positive assessment from vetassess for office manager as I have NVQ4 AAT which had business admin as a module. Only prob is I haven't worked in an office for a couple of years - I am now a self employed accountant and work from home. I only need the 5 points to add to OH application to take us to 120. We could go 176 route and get state sponsorship but would rather get a 175 if possible. Just worried they may say ok you have positive skills assessment but it's not the job you're doing now so it's no good! Hope this makes sense. Do any agents know - is a positive assessment enough to get 5 points or do you need to show that you've been doing that job recently too?

Hi
I scoured the internet for a resolution - I just couldn't believe that for 5 points it could stop us.!!!

We went last year and narrowed our favourite areas to Mudgereeba, Reedy Creek, Jacobs Ridge or Beerwah. Where we end up will depend on where OH can find a job.

Hi Nicky
You need to have worked a certain amount of time in the job but I'm going to pm you with the details.

Well done Karen and thank you for sharing the information with us all. I think we may be in the same position as you so this is very helpful. In one of your previous posts you said that there was another company which offered Business Management. Did you make a note of their contact details? If so, could you please PM me?

Thanks
Mandy

Hi

I didn't keep the details, but Orion also do Business Management. I have posted their details earlier in this thread.

No Problem!

Just thought I'd add that I could have done the Business Management AQF but I am a bit lazy!!! LOL. It would apparently been more difficult than the Business Admin and because I only wanted the 5 points, I took the easier option.

I was wondering if it would have any impact if I ever get a job in Oz, that I have an Australian Qualification??

Karen
