never mind migration issues - how bout house selling issues!

hi just a bit of advice -- GET YOUR HOUSE ON THE MARKET NOW!!!!! if your applying for your visa, and have a house to sell, i would definately recommend getting a sign outside now. we've got our visa in april and put house up in march but not even had a viewer yet. our little ticket sits inside our passports in the cupboard and can not be used. how bad is that after all our (AUGUST APPLICANT) waiting. well it'll get a brief outing when we validate in august but then i'll be crying on the way home, knowing i'm coming home to a wait to see if we get a buyer. bloody credit cruch!!! anyway i'm off to check out that "positve thread" again. lol. but anyway, take the advice or another wait may well begin!

On a more cheerier note....we have now been on the market for a WHOLE YEAR....!!!!!..... and guess what......we have had a massive 4 BLOODY VIEWERS.....!!!!.......we have dropped £25k already....we will drop a further£25k in July......!!!!.......and i still have a smile on my face.......(had a few beers.......been out for tea.....).........

as for visa validation.....i believe entry to oz must be within one year of medicals or police checks being done..............

When your visa is issues its issued from the day you had your medicals or police checks (whichever had the earliest date), you are then given 12 months from that date to make your initial entry into Aus. e.g. our medicals were May 18th '06 - our visa was granted in July 06, we had to validate by May 18th 07. There is a big risk in sending off meds etc with the application, it's best to study peoples time lines and to try to see when CO's are allocated e.g. 5 months after application and book your meds for around this time. There was someone recently who only had 3 months to validate - bit of a rush when the house isn't sold.

hi yeah you have twelve months from earliest police check or med. i ordered my police checks before i sent visa off as my other half knew he'd spent a couple of youthful drunken nights in the cells ( oh to be young again) but wasn't sure what he had on record. turned out not a lot and this mistake has cost us a lot really. when visa was granted in april we only have till 22nd aug to validate, this is UNCHANGABLE this date. so a £10 police check has really cost us nearly £3000 in flights. well ya live and learn, (and blame him of course). good luck with houses - think i may reduce ours again, and cut our losses.

we put our house on market end of jan 08 and on second EA not had any veiwers we got our visa beging of feb, have to validate by beging of dec where we will get the bl***y money from dont't know we just drop the price down last week and still nothing.

so yes wish we had put house when applying but there is always that doubt what if don't get visa would have lost the house always loved.

we should start a new thread with all the houses forsale then if those people coming back can veiw our houses and maybe sell...............any chance tim
