Medicals.

Hi all,

My husband has been sponsored on a 457 visa, myself and our daughter is also on his visa application. The agent that the company is using for the visa application have told us that we all need medicals and X-rays, yet a friend of mine that has already gone out sed that she had both as she is a nurse, both her children had both as they were going to school, but her husband only needed an X-ray as he wasnt doing either. We were trying to save a bit of money by just having the X-rays, now we are just so baffled. We are contemplating just having X-rays and daughter just having both. I have looked at the form 1163i that states we dont need both but agent wont listen. Whos right?
Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some light.

Helen.

Hi
As far as I am aware you all need medicals and the adults and any children over the age of 11 will need chest xrays to check for TB. Adults also need blood tests for HIV (& Hep B if you have any tattoos)

meds on a 457 visa

Hi,
We did our medicals for a 457 two weeks ago in Manchester. Hubby is the main applicant. He and myself only had x-rays as we are not at school or being nurses. Daughter who is 16 had to have medicals which included a wee test and an x-ray. The son who is 10 just had a medical with a wee test. He did not have x-ray as you only have them if over 11 years old. No one had blood tests. All in all for the four of us cost us just a little less than £500.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replys, we thought that was the case. The agent we are using has been employed by my hubbys employer. I think we shall just have the X-rays and daughter will have to have both and see what happens.

Thanks again,
Helen.
