Gollywobbler will become famous soon enough
Hi Alan

Thanks very much indeed for the info. I replied to a post 30 minutes ago assuring a lady that as soon as 2008/9 CPV quota was announced, you would say something on here.

I've just read the release (thanks for the link.)

When will we know what the breakdown is between non-contributory and Contributory Parent visas, please?

I've just checked all the likely spots on the main DIAC website and so far that has not been altered.

I'm just wondering whether the bulk of the 4,000 new visas has been given to the non-contributory Parents or whether the Minister Wants Da Money from the Contributory Parents instead? Personally I hope that he has been fair to both groups, with maybe 3,000 extra non-contributory Parent visas and 1,000 extra CP visas.

We need the breakdown before we can ask you to rattle the abacus and work out the likely waiting times for CPV applicants, hon.....

Very many thanks for the news, though.

Best wishes

Gill

It is only a hunch, but I would expect all of the extra places to be allocated to CP applicants, Gill.

The lobbying for extra places has been for CP applicants, not for the older Parent visas.

More from me as soon as I know more ...

Best wishes.
