Nurses on 176 ??

Has anyone gone out on a 176 as opposed to a 175 as a nurse??

I see this visa and it looks a pretty good option as you can get out with less points. what are the good sides and the bad sides. Please help.

Also if sonsored on 176 who sponsored you as a nurse. We are looking at the geelong area but are open to options.

All help would be greatly appreciated
Regards, Buzz.

PS does anyone know about textile factorys with labs in and around geelong area??

We too intend to go out on a 176. We are aiming to go to Brisbane area so Queensland will be the ones that sponsor us. It does mean that you have to stay in that state but we are sure we will love it so not bothered.

Thanks for replys, geelong is 1 hour from melbourne on the southern coast - seems a nice place.

How did you go about getting the sponsorship - ie who do you have to contact?

Many thanks

Hiya Buzz,

I have been sponsored by Victoria and am also a nurse. I went online to the victoria website........
www.liveinvictoria.vic.gov.au and completed the online application. A word of caution though, make sure that you have your ANMC assessment completed as this has to be uploaded when applying.
The point of this visa is that you have to find employment in regional victoria as opposed to the main centre of Melbourne. You are expected to live in regional Victoria for at least 2 years and work for at least 1 year.

Hope I have given you the correct information ? If you go onto the website, you will get all the information you need.

We are also aiming for Geelong so let us know how you get on.

Gill

Nurses heading to Geelong should feel able to send me their CVs (alan - at - gomatilda.com) - we have an office in Geelong (where I work - and live) and can assist with placements.

Best regards.

Thanks for that Alan, my CV will be winging its way to your office as soon as I get word of visa approval.
