My partner was previously married and we have his divorce cert but not his marriage cert. In the application for the prospective marriage visa it asks for both these docs to be provided. As he was married in Austria we are finding it really hard to get a cert copy from there. I’m just panicked that this could slow down the visa process.
I called AHC and asked if the marriage cert was needed and they wouldn’t give a yes or no, just to send app without it and if they needed it they would let me know, seems a bit bizarre to me lol!! As we have the divorce cert it shows he was married in the first place anyhow….
I'm also divorced and was worried about this but they never asked to see my original certificate but they can be funny devils when they want to be apparently. I'd just send it off and see what they say and in the meantime try to track a copy down just incase they decide they want it. I just sent off my current marriage certficate and birth certificate.
