Hi I Was Tld It Does Help To Have The Qualification But There Are Others Ways To Prove What You Do Like Work Referances And Photos. But You Can Still Apply If You Hav Over Seven Years Worth Of Experience

Hi Ger
The lack of paper-qualifications is causing major headaches for some skilled tradies, but fortunately it is NOT causing problems for Joiners.
The reason is because Joiners are one of the (few) trade skills being assessed by VETASSESS at the moment, and formal qualifications are not required according to VETASSESS. The downside is that the VETASSESS process is slow and exppsnsive. It consists of a peper-based skills assessment and then if that it OK, a day of practical assessment on top. They only seem to be doing the practicals for times a year in the UK.

Best wishes
Gill
