Advice on Visas

Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone can give me some advice. agent has advised we apply for sc175 Visa. We have to provide copies of OH qualifications certificate and its starting to look like we may not be able to get copies, City & Guilds stating they cannot find anything! Agent has said this would be a major problem.

Can we go to Oz any other way without having to supplying such info? For example I was thinking is there a short term visa you can go on and then when you are there working apply for residency - or am I dreaming??

Not really, when we enlisted the agents we just took their advice on the 175 visa. I dont really know how it works with the sponsorship thing - do you know where I can get any info??

Wink Hi

Hi Yorkshirepud,
We are in the same boat as you, we payed City and Guilds to find and supply us with OH certificate, but they cannot trace it. And I have since found that when you apply for sponsorship they still ask you for a TRA Assesement unless its an employer, which we are finding very hard.
I noticed you are with an agent, they should be able to give you visa options.
The web sight to go to is www.immi.gov.au it will explain all the visa's.
Good look
Luv Gwen x x

Hi Gwen

Which expo did you got to? We went to the one in London yesterday & were disappointed. We didnt want a sponsor or anything just helpfulness really!
The department of immigration told us that electricians werent on MODL, yet the bloke there from Visa-Go pulled up immi's website & hey it was there!!! Soooo crap! May be better to go to an expo when you're nearer the actual going stage!

How is the sponsor thing going? Are you going on a permanent, as I was under the impression that sponsored ones were temporary?

Judith
