where to live?

Having just returned from a reccie we are still none the wiser as to where we want to go. We feel we don't want to go to Cairns as it will be unbearable in the summer.

Adelaide is tempting as it has cheap housing but we are party animals and I wonder if it will be too quiet for us????

Central coast is appealing as well as I have a brother there.

And finally Brisbane?

Advice on specific areas would be nice if possible.

oh, for got to add jobs. My wife is a soon to be nurse and I am a firefighter. Hope to get in the job over there or join the police force if not.

I know, it's like finding a needle in a hay-stack isn't it trying to choose somewehere to live.

I'm probably not much help, but the way we have done it is to pick WA and Caloundra (QLD) area to look at relocating to. We narrowed it down to 2 areas otherwise you can make yourself dizzy researching areas...house prices...etc.

I've lived in WA and enjoyed it, but loved the fact that in QLD there was more around you to visit and wasn't as isolated as Perth. We were thinking when friends and family come and stay there will be heaps for them to do too.

My hubby is a brickie, so we looked at whihc areas were being developed too so he could find work easily.

At the end of the day...if you rent when you get there, you'll know if you like it enough to live there...if you don't like it...try somewhere else, that's what we're going to do.
