Hiya Debzs,

Yes we are planning on using the bridging visa as the points system changed whilst we were in Oz!

I am really disappointed to hear that you have had "rude and offensive posts" when you have been asking questions about the student visa.

When I first started using this site I was asking questions all the time and had nothing but helpful responses, but to be honest I don't get on PIO as much as I'd like to these days.

For me PIO is all about helping everyone and sharing our experiences both good and bad, so of course it is ok for you to PM me with any questions you want.......I will try my best to answer them for you.

Heather

Hi Debzs,

I'm looking into te student option too, we are using studyoptions.com THEY ARE FREE as they claim thier commissons from the college you attend, which helps as money is n option too. Where are you hoping to move to? as school fees differ between states.
Ginell.

Hey Ginell

OH has just applied for carpentry in Mel for 2 years we were supposed to start Jul 09 but they ony intake once a year so we are trying Jan 09 if the house sells looking to settle in Sunbury Vic found a lovley college for son 13yrs and the principal is fab and a lovley primary school for daughter.

The worst thing bout the visa is the school fees arghh but we feel it will be worth it..

Slighty nervous about find a job though :-)

You know you say Study options are free do you then have to get a seperate migration expert??

Its all in with ours the deal with everything visa etc

I have heard really good things about Study Options as well quite a few peeps have used them on here!!

Where are you heading and when??

Hi Heather

I was disappointed too as most peeps have been so great and I have learned so much yesterday for example I saved myself 2700 just by learning to buy return tickets when we go for me and my son to come back in Jan 2010 as his dad is here then buying singles to return in Jan Brilliant!!!

Its the talking down to I dont like appreciate I am ugly and old enough to understand the descison we are making I know you have to be aware of the gamble but dont breath it down my neck esp when its not being done to other peeps on here!!

Anyway thats my rant over I will be in touch and thxs it great reading your posts.

Good luck with the bridging visa....... you are not on PIO as your too busy living your life lol Wicked

student visas

Hi Debzs

How much are your school fees for the kids?

Have they been accepted in a school already?

We have been told to wait till we are over there to apply for the kids schools.

Are you hoping to go in Jan 09? Our visas are being lodged on Friday(as it has to be 4 mth before college starts) and then we will have to go for our medical which I am really worried about even though the last time any of us went the doctors was years ago!!

Hey Wendy

Cant belive how quick your going I am running round now for Jan lol

We have to sell the house for Jan so it all depends on that I am de cluttering as we speak deciding what to bootsale or chuck out...

I did a search for schools in Sunbury after I decided thats where we would live its got good links into Mel for OH to go to college. I just dropped them a line via email they were fab. The primary school was fine as OH daughter has been there.

Laura did say not to worry about the schools as in Vic you pay 100 dollars each child for no letter from the school but if you find a school within 7days you get it back.

School fees work out to be aprox 7000 pounds per year for son 13 daughter 7.

I am scared about the medicals too I just dont like tests your turn first you can tell me..

We will apply for ours August as thats 4mths bless Laura she said that if we have had no interest in the house we wont proceed untill Jan 2010 which is ok by us we will rent if house sold and save some more money its less than 2 years...

Good things are worth waiting for, saying that I am waiting for a reply off an interested lady re house...did you read my post about my weekend when I approached a lady looking at a dif property in my street if she wanted to buy mine, she came back that day to look . We phoned her up yesterday told her what it was valued at and she's having a chat with her daughter and getting back to us ( I hope ) nearly fell over....

Its a couple of weeks till your med isnt it our meds are being held in our own doctors practise as they are on the list Spooky...

How much are you paying for yours??
