457 Visa Times

I too am going on a 457 visa with Queensland Health. I sent my visa application (online) on 11th March. Medicals were completed and acknowledged on the 1st April, just waiting now. Do you get a case officer if you apply online. Coz if you do I haven't got one yet..

You are really lucky to have had your acknowledgement through already, I got fed up of waiting to apply for medicals as its the case officer who is supposed to ask you to attend for them and just went and got them done and sent. You are supposed to get a case offeicer but I applied on 18 nov and only just got mine a couple of days ago. This was only becouse I emailed them to see what was happening and I got given her name but she has not contacted me yet. I think it is the luck of the draw how fast you get your visa as I ahve spoken to people who applied after me and have got theirs. Where are you working in Queensland. I have a job at Princess Alexandra in Brisbane. Antway I hope you hear soon and you might get your visa through first

I didn't think you needed medicals for a 457 visa only chest x rays. As you are not entitled to medicare on a temp visa, would be paying for medical what ever health you have??

I'm a nurse so have to have the medicals as will be working in a hospital....hubbie only had the chest xray. Sorry should have made that clear.

I'll be working at the Gold Coast Hospitals (probably based in Southport)....can't wait! Just hope the visa comes through soon..sounds like it could be a nightmare wait. So much for fast tracking huh?

I`m also going to the work in the ED in Southport Hospital on a 457 visa. Seems to be taking forever! Which dept are you going to ?

At the moment I'm waiting to find out which dept I'm heading for, hopefully cardiology! My visa was granted on Thursday hurrah, so won't be long til we're out there.
Just have loads to do now. Stay in touch coz it might be nice to meet up when we're both out there and compare notes. Where are you up to with your visa application?
