might seem like a really stupid question - but our grant letter did not have the attachment with it.
Do we just send the passports with a copy of the grant letter to australia house in London?
thank you debbie

Went to the post office yesterday really happy to be posting our three passports.
Big smile on my face and said the to lady behind the counter recorded delivery please.
She looked at the envelope and said without a smile "what's in it"? 3 passports I replied, she frowned even more and said they needed to be sent special delivery, i replied that recorded was fine, she then went on to paint the biggest doom and gloom picture imaginable about them getting lost. (nothing like having confidence in your own employers)
I'm going to be on tender hooks now until they come back.
Debbie

Hi Debbie, have you come back down to earth yet? Did you not consider going to Australia house and having them put in? I think thats what we will do (if we ever get it) and spend a day in London.

Wish we had the time to, dave works 4 12hr shifts a week and I work the other three, so trying to get there and back in time to pick little un from school would be difficult.
Just been informed this afternoon that our buyers will be ready to exchange in 10 days - arrg!!!! - so desperately cleaning out the kitchen utensils (inbetween visiting PIO) this week ready for the packers on 30th April.

That's what we are going to do. I have never been to Australia House before so I am really looking forward to it- if our visas ever come through!

We sent ours to Australia house with a covering letter and a special delivery return envelope. They process them so quickly - you will have them back soon.
If you are anything like us you will keep looking at the bit of paper in the passport and wondering how it could cause so much worry and stress. The best bit is it says on it "for permanent residence"
When you book your flights make sure you tell them you are emigrating as you get increased baggage allowances on most airlines. Singapore airlines have given us double allowance meeaning that we have 40 kilos each - which actually means I'll be lugging 80 kilos around the airport as Claire will suddenly be all weak that day (surprise, surprise!)
