Lightbulb How can we make things happen more quickly???

Hi all,

We're just about to ge the ball rolling with our visas, once we've decided on which migration agent to use that is!

As patience is not my forte , and I appreciate that there'll be plenty of waiting around further down the line ...is there any paperwork we can prepare in the meantime to speed things up? Taking into consideration that I'm from sunny South Africa.

Really appreciate any advice,

Many thanks

Hi Aussiehopper,
I can only go on what we are experiencing but if I were you I wouldn't be filling in forms just yet. We were anxious like you but our agent (Go Matilda) told us that some forms we thought were required were not (as they were going to do online app.)! Do start getting all your docs together for certification though as that will save time (we found it was much cheaper to do in bulk). You need a definitive list but will definitely need:

Birth certs for everyone on app. that need to be full ones inc. parent details.
Passports for everyone on app..
Marriage cert. where applicable.
Qualification/Prof. cert. docs for main applicant.

There are others but they differ depending on visa type.

You will also need proof of income in related job, curriculum vitae, letters of reference for work (again this may be visa dependent but all info on DIAC website I think) see link.

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/index.html

So much depends on your visa type and application method its difficult to be precise.

Good luck anyway,

Tracey.

Howzit AussieHopper,

From one South African to another I feel your pain, frustration and impatience - sadly this is an afflication we all suffer from on this site - waiting, waiting, waiting - oooh sooo boring! Be grateful it not South African time there would be alot more waiting me thinks! Anyway good luck with your application!!

Id be stocking up on prozac aussiehopper, the visa process is really done to test our patience im sure,,youve got a few good tips listed above to help you get ready ,further into the application you can frontload meds and police checks but it dosnt cut the waiting by much.If its any help the on line applications do seem to be processed abit quicker than paper ones,,good luck and believe me its worth it in the end, even if you are bald after tearing all your hair out!lol

the one bit of my paperwork that took a long time to get was my IELTS test, which took 2 months to book and then 1 month to get the results, this delayed my app as the C/O was waiting for it!! if i had known i would need eng test i would have done it sooner. my accreditation for qualifications took ages too - 3 months ( i am a teacher) but i did do that in advance of our app in sep 08.
