Qualified parents

My parents are quite interested in emigrating. That is, if me (Daughter) and family can go. That means they'll have both their children living in Oz. (Son already on Gold Coast) What's their choice of visas? Here's their situation:
Dad - 57 Mum - 51
Mum - Grade E or F paediatric burns nurse
Dad - Something very qualified to do with routers!
Both jobs on MODL list
Both kids in Oz (hopefully)
About $1,000,000 to take out with them
Does anyone know anything about oldies going out on skilled visas? Can they continue to work over there past retirement age?
Any help will be appreciated.

miss m is on a distinguished road
Im no expert but i dont think you can get a skilled visa over the age of 45 except in exceptional circumstances

There is a parent visa, not sure if there is an age limit on this or not? I think you have to have a permanent resident visa before they can apply.
I beleive the contributory one can take up to 2 years on waiting list, whilst the non contributory one can take 8 to 10 years! they only give so many out a year

heres the link for the immigration website

HI

Your mother should have no trouble getting an offer of a job plus an offer of an Employer Nominated Scheme visa. Hospitals are apt to offer 457 visas to start with. No problem with that as long as the hozzy commits to doing its own side of a subclass 856 ENS visa sooner rather than later - ie within 6-12 months of her arrival in Oz. Mother would be exempted from the normal age criteria.

Please see the following links:

Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856)

Employer Nomination Scheme (Subclass 121/856)

Employer Sponsored Migration Booklet - Australian Immigration

Don't let her waste time, though. She needs to get on with this yesterday. She must get a positive skills assessment - that is the first step. She also needs to contact all the hospitals in whichever area you are interested in, I suggest.

Dad can do whatever he likes as a job when he gets to Oz.

Best wishes

Gill

qualified parents

Thanks for that. My parents are actually going out to the Gold Coast to see my brother next month, and I think my mum's visiting Brisbane Childrens Hospital when she's there. They have close links with the hospital she works in here. I'll tell her to force a job offer out of them! Knowing my luck my mum and dad will probably be out there before me!

Hiya

I think you are spot on and that your Parents might well be in Oz before you! But hey, who cares as long as the whole family can be together in the place where you want to be with the minimum of fuss and delay?

Please keep in touch and let me know how your Mum gets on when she visits the children's hozzy in Brisbane?

Thanks

Gill

Bless you Gill. Thanks for your help and I will keep you informed. I'm pushing my hubby to pull at all the stops now. I feel it's a race between us and my parents!
