do you lose pr status
I emigrated to Australia with my parents as £10 poms and lived there for nearly 9 years (68-77).Unfortunately my parents never took up citizenship and as far as i know our original visa's were not cancelled as such. We have never been back, though i would love to go. Now my question is this,i know i would need to secure a visa to return. But would we have lost our PR status.

I'm pretty sure that you no longer have PR status in Aus (you have to fulfill criteria of living there to obtain a resident return visa). You'll have to apply for another visa.
