      how to get ball rolling?

we are a couple from Manchester who have family living in North Australia. they moved there just over 12 months ago. Can they sponsor us to go & live in oz?
      i am a retail manager(33) & my girlfriend is a make up artist(26).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

      Thanks

      Hello M&C

      Welcome to poms in Oz.

You may not necessarily need to think in terms of family sponsored skilled migration.

You may be eligible for a skilled independent subclass 175 instead. This is the Rolls Royce of all permanent visas for Oz because it grants immediate permanent residence in Oz and it comes with no strings attached. Once in Oz, you can go where you like and do what you like.

You would really only need to consider family-sponsored migration if you find that you cannot score the 120 points needed for a subclass 175 visa. In that event, you could consider the family-sponsored skilled subclass 176 visa instead, and I think you only need 100 points for that.

Investigate these two options before you worry about any other possibilities, I would suggest. Please see the following links:

Professionals and other Skilled Migrants - Workers - Visas & Immigration

      Australian General Skilled Migration Booklet

If you need more help, please just shout because someone on here will know the answer to your question and if we all find ourselves stumped, PiO has the benefit of several Registered Migration Agents who forum members and who are willing to read threads and offer a general steer to the person with the query.

      Best wishes

      Gill
