Warning - Moving Pets!!

Just wanted to make sure (I'm pretty sure you all do though!!) that you get lots of quotes for moving your pets. We have only had 2 at the moment, but OMG - what a difference in price!!

They both include the same, neither of them include the quarantine costs in Perth, PetAir Uk have quoted a fantastic £790 for our cat, then received one from Pets on the Move Ltd, JESUS - £1765!! How can there be such a difference???

Has anybody had the same sort of differences? Can't wait to get the quotes for shipping the house!!!!!

Also, be warned as I was in an earlier thread, that quarantine places get booked up pretty quick. I was told now - in March - that the earliest they have any spaces in Perth is June!! Don't leave things to the last minute!

Thanx - Lynn x

Thanks for the tip - i had no IDEA what a difference there could be? But i had noticed that people on here had been saying £4000 for one dog, when others were saying £4000 for 2 dogs and 2 cats!!!! I presumed it was a just a time difference, i.e ten years ago it cost alot less... but maybe there is more to it than that.

You should question the more expensive one as to why they are so much more expensive...

We used Pets on the move and it was £1,300. I have to say the service was excellent. They picked up our cat from our home, this included 2 nights cattery costs - they took her to the vets for her fitness to fly certificate and also transported her to Manchester airport. They did all the paper work etc., and booked her into quarentine - we didn't have to do anything at all.

You're right about the quarentine station - Byford isn't particularly large and gets booked up very quickly

Hi

I have just flew my 2 cavalier king charles spaniels over to melbourne and i used golden arrow and they were fantastic they too picked the anima up and they had 3 nights with them before flying so they can get them ready. They do not have a web site but i am sure you will find there number on here somewhere as i did.
I did also get a few quotes and they seemed to be the cheapest for me at £2242, i had quotes of over £3000 but not sure now who that was.

My boys are now in the quarantine in spotswood and have been there 2 weeks and have 2 more weeks to go until they come home.
They are coping really well ( even in the extreme heat we have been having in melbourne the last week) and seem to be happy enough.
We moved here in December but could not get a plave i the quarantine here until march 3rd as yes it was booked up over 12 weeks so they have been living with my mum.

Great to finally get them here with us
