Workforce Solution Stand London

Is it just me or was the guy at the Workforce solutions stand a bit dodgey?
I spoke to him and told him what i did and he took my C.V and put it away and said i can offer you a sponsorship and get you there in 12 weeks. He even said for me to come to an interview in York in 5 weeks.
But as i was at another stand he said the same thing to about 12 other people.

Can this stand be trusted??

I have spoken to Gary from work force solutions , they are large recruitment agency working for companys in OZ looking for staff on the MODL list, the reason its so quick is they employ you not the firm and have a special signed up aggrement with the goverment. the contract with workforce lasts a year and has great benefits, but after that the employer if he wants you has the option of taking over the sponsor or you can sign again with workforce and work some where else, all the visa's are 457 temps (think I have the 5/7 right way round )

Hmmm ... check with Workforce Solutions that they will in fact continue sponsoring you after the 12 month terms ends if there is no third party employer who is prepared to sponsor you.

If they won't, you are likely to be heading back to the UK ...

Best regards.

I suppose that depends on whether there is the work available for your trade...........wouldnt like to go through all this only to be heading back in 12 months because of visa issues...... However, will see what Thursday brings - be happy with lots of info - but will be aware of pitfalls............thanks for the warning!!!

Yes you can. But you will have to head offshore immediately prior to visa grant.

Alternatively you may find an employer who is happy to sponsor you for the grant of a permanent residency visa under the Employer Nomination Scheme or the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme once you are in Australia.

Best regards.

Hi there

I would suggest that you call either Workforce Solutions or the workplace assessment company and find out what the latter would be proposing to charge you for doing the assessment in the UK. The figures I've heard range from about £3,500 to £4,000 and I do not know whether that includes VAT.

As far as I know, the fees for the TRA or whoever are payable on top of this, plus the applicant then has to pay DIAC's fees, the meds etc.

If you were to invest this kind of money to have the workplace assessment done in the UK, would you then become eligible for skilled independent migration instead, I wonder? I don't know - I'm asking. Thinking aloud, really.

Two other points worth bearing in mind, I think, are:

TRA are saying that they aim to have the New, Improved Version of Pathway D up & running on 1st July 2008, at the start of the 2008/9 Migration Program Year. Please see here:

Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia - News

Someone said on here last week that his own Migration Agent reckons that the new Pathway D for painters & decorators could be introduced as early as May 2008. (I think it was painters & decorators but might have been something else.

The other thing is that Alan Collett has been talking with TAFEs in Oz about the possibility of candidates going to Oz for a couple of weeks so that the TAFEs can do the workplace assessments out there. Please see the following links:

Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia - News

http://www.pomsinoz.com/forum/migrat...sessments.html

Alan makes some good points on the thread above.

In your shoes, I might be inclined to hold fire for a while because Workforce Solutions are likely to be looking for people for quite some time, I would guess.

Best wishes

Gill
