Child from previous relationship

Hi,
I have a dilemma I'm hoping someone can help with. I am hoping to go to Oz with my family, but have a 24yr old son from my 1st marriage. There has been no contact for over 20yrs. I am unaware of his whereabouts. Will he be required to do a medical? If so and I did not put his name on form, do they have anyway of finding out?

I would think that as he is 24 then he is probably not a dependant or wont be viewed as such. So would not have thought he would need a medical. But he will still have to be on your list of rellies etc.. on your application.

I agree with Kim that at 24 he is not classed as a Dependant, but not too sure if you should risk not puting him on the applicaion.

I hope you get this sorted. Try asking an Agent they will be able to advise you further.

I have a 20 year old son who isn't coming with us, didn't have to have a medical, his is not on the visa application just the bit where they ask about family-mum,dad ect.

Hi, I think it's only children uner 18 that need a medical, however, I think you do still have to put him on when you do your visa application (I think there's a place for all family members)

Thanks for your replies folk. Checked it out and you're all right, it's no prob, just give name and D.O.B. on form. Cheers
