Just to let you know I had the email back from aspc - the good news is if you are e-lodged 175 the date has moved on to 1st Nov 07
But if you are paper based like us it hasnt moved on from 16th Sept again! - this is the 2nd week - ooh well - its more likely to have moved by next week eh?
Take care

175 Paper Visa - 11th October07 * PCC April/ Meds May
************VISA GRANTED 8th July 08**********
Hi Rachel, Thanks for the info. We applied online on the 16/11/07 , meds were requested almost straight away so had them on the 1/12/07 , they were finalised Mid Jan, but then we had to send of our accounts which we didnt get together until I think the Beg of Feb. Anyway all is in now and I hope by what you are saying that we hear something pretty soon now then!!
There's no consistency to the speed they're processing the online 175 applications. Three weeks ago they moved forward 2 weeks in 1 week, the following week they didn't move forward at all and then this past week they've moved forward 3 days.

175 ONLINE VISA
APPLIED: 16/12/07; FL MEDS & PC's: 18/02/08; VISA GRANTED: 17/07/08
At least they are moving again though, unlike the poor people with paper applications!! I still check my online application every day even though we didn't apply until January!!
I really should stop doing it, nothing is going to change for at least another two months. No that I should be worrying - selling our house seems to be taking for ever - someone find me a buyer please!!!!!!

thats useful to know - I got receipted on 15th October, so I guess we'll still have at least a few weeks to wait before they get to our dusty old pile of papers.. LOL!

You mentioned accounts? Did they ask you to send statements of your accounts? Just wondered if they want to know how much money you will bring in?
I submitted online too and have just been given a case officer.

Hi Bruce, Yes and No really, we are self-employed and they wanted statements and letter from accountant and tax man about our accounts, so it was not from our current account but from our business account.
We have also heard that things are slower at the moment as immi are doing more checks on peoples employment at the moment so this is slowing the process down and asking for statements so that they can see incomings!!!
Apparently they are still looking at applications lodged on the 1/11/07 and it has not shifted since the beginning of this month.

Hi Rachel
Thanks very much for this info. A dear friend of mine is out in Adelaide on a 457 visa, but they applied for a skilled 175 visa during September 2007. As they have not heard anything, I think they must have applied toward the end of September and it is probably a paper-based application.
I did get my chum a copy of the aspc e-mail a couple of weeks ago but could not make head nor tail of its gibberish.
I also have a feeling that preparing the weekly e-mail is the job of a very lowly Junior Minion and that updating it only gets done if the Minion happens to be at work and is not overloaded with other tasks.
No doubt the first Junior Minion relies on other Junior Minions in each team dealing with each different visa to provide the source information for the e-mail and so on!
