Bit of a long shot...but is it possible?

Looking at the different types of visa's I see there is a visa for skilled employer sponser.

However is it possible to get a visa thats sponsored by an employer even if it not on the skilled list?

e.g, hubby a bus driver..if we mailed lots of companies and got him a sponsor, could we get a visa on that?

i know it a real long shot but if you dont ask, you dont get?

Jem x

Hi Jem, As far as i can gather you can get a over on a sponsorship visa, and I think this is how alot of people do it who are not on the skilled list. Its the option that we are going to have to take as neither me or the oh have the skills that are needed. So it will take alot of phone calls, emails, late nights but i do know that people have managed it.
Hope this helps

Cath

thanks Cath...just wanted to check as i'm getting easily confused with all this skilled business.
our only other option is a student visa but hubby getting the jitters and would feel safe if he could have a job to go to etc.

i've mailed loads of companies so fingers crossed we'll hear something

I know, its all really confusing with all the different visas! Still, it'll be worth it all in the end, eh! We are in the same position as you i think and I have started to consider a student visa too but im not sure where we would stand financially. think we might both have to work realistically.

I have emailed loads of companies too and had a few replies, unfortunately none of them have been in a position to sponsor, but hey, the more you try, someone is bound to offer soon(thats what i keep telling myself anyway!)

keep me posted, good luck

Cath:)
