Wanting to move to Oz

Hi, can anybody advise us. We are looking at trying to move to Oz in four years time, shame it cannot be any earlier but needs must. When would be the best time to start the process, now or wait a while?

Hi, You may get a few different answers to your question. In my opinion I would say if you are eligible then apply now! The reason is that things can change and if you are on the demand list or are eligible at the moment then in a few months, years you may not be.

Once you have your Visa you would need to activate it within a year (from date of meds or police check), but then I think you something like 4 years until you finally have to leave for Australia.

What i was saying was i cannot really go yet because i am waiting to finish my current career which would be stupid to leave now and miss out on some big bucks. If that was not the case i would be there already, providing i was excepted.

I would agree with kdal and start the process now as most visas can take 12 months to obtain. You have to validate your visa within 12 months of getting it (so there is potentially 2 years) but then have upto 5 years to enter oz on a more permanent basis.

We're just at the start of the process but don't intend to move over to Oz until Summer 2011. I think it's worth getting the ball rolling asap because at least you'll have plenty of time to get yourself sorted...and I'm hoping that this means my stress levels won't go through the roof!!!
