Assurances of support

Hi

Sorry for another question tonight, just been reading the changes to family sponsorship on the Go Matilda website. Is anyone else looking at applying for a Skilled - Regional Sponsored Visa 475. Reading the update where it says :

More specifically, effective from 01/01/2008:

- Assurances are no longer required for migrants applying for Skilled visas or Carer visas.

May be a silly question but is 475 visa classed as Skilled and is it the assurances for 2 years accomodation and financial support that are no longer required?

Please help clarify!

Yes it is a skilled visa but no an assurance is something different from the 2 year financial support and accommodation requirement.

An assurance refers to the assurance of suport bond (which now only applies to a couple of visas) but the sponsorship obligations are a different requirement and they do continue to apply. Your sponsor cannot be forced to provide your accomodation or financial support, but is expected to do so if either are needed.
