We Have Heard A Whisper That An Updated Loophole Free Version Of Pathway D May Be Being Re-introduced On The 1st Of July This Year,,and That An Interim Assesment Body Will Be Set Up On The Same Lines In The Meantime,,,is This Just Idle Gossip Or Can Anyone Shed Any Light?

I emailed TRA yesterday hoping for light at the end of the tunnel, this was there response;

Thank you for your enquiry to Trades Recognition Australia (TRA).
In relation to the Uniform Assessment Criteria (UAC) and skill pathway D, TRA has concluded the consultation phase and is close to finalising a policy position on the way ahead. It is expected that revised assessment criteria and supporting information will be released in the first quarter of 2008.
Please note TRA cannot provide any further information on this matter as the decision has not yet been made which direction TRA will take on the Pathway "D" matter.
Applicants and agents are advised that any updates to this situation will be noted on the TRA website. Any response to this email must be sent to traenquiries@dewr.gov.au if you require it to be actioned.

We received the same email from TRA, and as i read it, it seems they may be some news before the end of march. (end of the first quarter of the year). please let this be the case i don't know if i can get my hubby to hang on til july, i am using every last bit of strength and will power to stop him giving up completly.
As for the sponsorship path, it seems they are just not interested if you don'y have your visa already. arh arh arh !!!!

a friend of mine was told the same yesterday by his agent. (ian harrop). must be some truth in it..good look to you all.

hi there, was he told july or march, it may not be much different to some but to me its a huge difference!!!

I was told the other day it maybe sometime in July. But I couldnt wait so I sent mine off and to my suprise it came back that I had passed. I did have a qualification though ( so maybe this helped me). It only took 2 weeks.

Yes, the latest date we now have is that the yhope to announce something by the 01st July 2008.
