Paperwork

Hi everyone , as some of you already know we havent applyed for are visas yet , we are waiting for a house we bought 3 years ago to sell , we bought it to move into but were having problems getting children into the schools i wanted them to go to , my son has dyslexia so needed a school that dealt with it , we couldnt get him into the only school local that had a good reputation , so we decided to stay were we are now in rented . Any way the house is not selling and we really want to get the ball rolling , What i need to know is what type of paper work do we need to get ready , for application , i know paul will need to have certificates of training but what else do we need . thanks karen

Hi Karen

When we started out, I got copies of our passports, full birth certificates (not the short version ones), marriage certificate, all secondary school and trade certificates (just for OH). I got more than one copy of each. They can be certified by anyone that can certify a passport so I got them all done in 1 batch and they were done jointly by a nurse and policeman who are friends, in return they got a very nice bottle of wine.

When we completed the paper app, we also had to send a certified copy of the TRA and the pass letter from them.

Hope this helps. I'm sure if I've missed anything out, it will get picked up.

Good luck - Joanne

Hi Karen,

O/H is the main applicant but I still needed to send my CV and proof of English language ability by showing that I attended a UK school (as I couldn't find my exam certs). Also the passports need to have a min of 2 years left on them (we had a last min panic on that one!) Don't know if this applies to you but I also needed to provide a certified copy of my original divorce cert, the decree absolute was not enough. Also had to go to court to get a removal from jurisdiction order for the children as it is their biological father that I am divorced from. You also need 4 passport photos each.

Have Fun
