brickies tests
Hi peps
do you have to pass test for bricklaing when you get to oz before you can work iv been reading about carpenters and plumbers having to do tests any brikies or brickies wives in oz now anything

No brickies do not have to sit any tests here. OH just took his little card thingy stating he was a qualified bricklayer with him.

Hi Mel

You no the little card book type thing they get when they qualify as a brickie at first. Mind you hubby qualified many years ago so might have changed I wouldn't worry to much as the proof is in the pudding so to speak. He will get a trial with any job & will be able to see from that that he is a qualified brickie. What visa you going for.

he didnt do his full aprentiship only done 2 years then went in to a full time possition with the firm he did his 2yrs apprentiship with he passed tra because of time surved been a bricky for 22yrs

Ah Ok

Well he has passed the TRA so you will have no worries then. At the end of the apprenticship you are given a qualification card thingy. But no he will not have to sit any tests over here.

when he gets here all he has to do is get a BLUE CARD (same as cscs card in uk) get his ABN (australian buissness number) and tax file reference number then he can start work, apply for these as soon as you get here as they take time to come through.
