Moved One Day!!!!!!!!

Finally got the weekly updated email from DIMA (normally done by Wednesday), and they have only moved one day in one week when acknowleding applications received before 01 Sep 07. At this rate its going to be months before we are acknowleded. Lets hope its just a blip!!

Sorry for the winge, hoping for better progress.

Hi Claire, nice to meet you.
I 'm an aircraft engineer and my wife is a nurse. I am the primary applicant because I have more work experience, 12 years and my wife is getting to the end of her first year. As it turns out, we could have applied on Jo's merits as by the time we get there she would have had enough experience, if we ever get there! the wait is agonizing. What trade are yourselves applying under? Andy.

how frustrating

How frustating is this? We want our acknowledgement also and I have no hair left. We have been checking for mail everyday and hoping it has arrived but nothing??? I have started to get frustrated with my job and I am ready to quit after 12 years. We applied one day before you so lets hope we here something soon before we lose the plot for good. anyway sorry for the winge but I needed to get it off my chest. Best of luck and fingers crossed Steve.

Hi guys,

We too did not, still have not ever received a receipt!, and we have our visa's. To my experience and my agents etc., the first stage takes the longest then once your medicals and pcc's are requested, received and processed then its only a couple of weeks when you receive your visa's. Dont be dishearted at this stage (its the worst part) beleive me.

Good luck & best wishes

Hi all,
Thanks for all your replies, it sounds like the email from DIMA is not to be trusted and there is a lot of people in the same boat though, giving it further thought, isn't it the summer holidays over there now? Could be bad timing, maybe under staffed. Sounds like there is light at the end of a very long tunnel.

My OH is a bricklayer. We are hoping to go to Perth. Where are you off to?

Hi Claire,
We were originally off to Perth, but looking at my field of work, the over inflated house prices and the weak pound, we are considering other options. Possibly, Adelaide or the Sunshine Coast as we have friends there. The job situation should be better in those places, to be honest, undecided. We are going to let the job offers dictate where we live, I imagine that happens for a lot of family's.
Perth looks great though.
