waiting game

HI all, our agent told us today that although we applied on line in oct07 it`s still going to be a couple of month`s before we hear anything back and the waiting is painfull.Can anyone advise us on medical`s and if it`s worth booking them now?

The online apps have been going through really quick. If you do a search for online apps you will be able to see there time line so it will give you an idea when to do your meds. I think alot of them front loaded them.. Good luck

Hi,thank`s for replying had alook on the immi web site at our progress and it just say`s it`s being processed now,think we might book try and book our medical`s for next month.

Online apps are really not being processed particularly more quickly than paper ones. It seems as though they made a start on them in Sept but after realising that they were going through really quick and the backlog just wasn't shifting from August they haven't processed any since 21st Sep according to the email.

Anyway, to answer your question we applied on 8th Nov and have booked our medicals for March hoping we will have heared something by then or that the dates of processing will have started to move again at least !!! We can always rearrange if we need to nearer the time and our docs will let us give 24 hours notice to cancel or rearrange without any charge, as we need to book a day off work to fit it in, it makes sense for us to book it in advance and we're not losing anything.

you might want to look into getting your police checks done too as we found these took ages ,much longer than the meds,we just rang our local head offce who emailed me the forms there and then,,good luck with everything and i hope you hear something soon

Be patient, it will be worth it in the end...I felt like I did on my wedding day and holding my first born for the 1st time after 3 yrs trying for her..at the same time! (best moment of my life - god that sounds cruel!)

Congratulations on getting your visa.

I notice you are an Electrician, whereabouts are you heading to? Do you have a job organised or waiting till you arrive?

My husband is an electrician, we started the process Jan 07 and everything is now complete, just waiting which shouldn't be too long as agent rang me on Monday to say immigration are finalising visa, so fingers crossed.
