advice pls on timeline to move out to oz

Hi guys,

just wandering if you could answer this for me, am i right in thinking that from the first date of police checks or your meds is the date you have to get out to oz after you visa is granted so we had our police checks on the 17th november 2007 so if our visa get s granted then we have till 17th november 2008 to move. we waited till our meds and pc were requested and sent them but we are still waiting on a acknowlegement for our meds and pc and looking on here it looks like it a 13 week wait too just get that then have to wait for the answer. i dont mind waiting i am just worried that it will take another 3/4 months to get the answer and we will not have long to sell house and move.

yes you have a year from when you had your meds done so if it gets near the time and not sold your house just go over for a holiday all who are on the visa's then at least they are stamped, and then you have 5 year after that.

we have to sell the house 1st before we can as money tied up in the house but should hear by feb so fingers cross house went up mon it sell's quick.

Yes advicce is correct. You get your 12 months from whichever you have dated first meds or police checks. You can validate though within the 12 months and then you get 5 yrs as Julie says. We validated ours in October & are hoping to move permenently very soon (as soon as house nightmare goes through!)

Why not put the house up the house now, we put ours up for sale after we'd sent off the meds and Pc's

Hi, we had our meds done in 18th Oct 07, then our police checks 12th Dec. We got our visas on Christmas Eve! Hooray! Have to be in Aus for 8th Oct 08.
