      [quote=Gollywobbler;173203]Hi all

      A further rule is that the secondary visa holders cannot make their Initial Entry to Oz in advance of the main visa holder doing so. This is not a problem if the whole family travels together.

      You are correct about validating your visa
      You can leave it 5 years before you move to Australia.

      The risk is if you have to return to the U.K for any reason
      You will need to apply for a return visa to get back into Australia

      The Australian government are unlikely to grant you a return visa if you
      Have been in Australia for only a few months.

      In practice do not leave it more than 2 years to move to Australia after validating your visa

      Yep. The whole family can troop off the plane and pass through Immi Control whilst the plane is refuelling, taking on more food etc. Having got their passports stamped, they can then catch the same plane out of Oz that they arrived on. It is really weird....

      Cheers

      This is something we are trying to sort out at the moment. Our Visa needs validating before July this year and we still haven't sold our house. Its been on the market since the end of May last year and we never in a million years imagined it wouldn't sell. Just shows how wrong you can be.

      So, we have now decided to book some flights for next month, stay with some friends, arrange a few interviews for Neil, and validate our Visas at the same time. It'll take the pressure off the house sale and give us all a little bit of a holiday. A chance to see our friends and enjoy a little sunshine will be fabulous.

      So its off we go in about 4 weeks and I can't wait!!!
