Childrens medicals

Hi All

Can anyone enlighten me as what to expect when I take my 3 childreb for their medicals next week. They are 5, 7 & 9. None has had any injections such as MMR wondering if this would be a problem as we are dead against them having it!! Hopefully then we can get our 457 visa granted and sell our house and move to sunshine coast and win lottery and buy ferrari and boat ,fish all day, drink lots of oz wines blah blah blah!!!!!! We can all dream

My kids age 7 and 5 had medicals with us recently, height, weight and a wee test which they found amusin!!! told them it was to check they were healthy. Oh yes and an eye test. We took our kids records with us (not had MMR either) but wasnt asked anything about it. Kids were fine about it all. Hope this helps

Hi there,

We did our medicals just before christmas. Our 8 and 11 year old did urine test, 4 year old didn't need to (she was most disgusted that the Dr didn't want to see her wee!). They all had eye test, height and weight done. He looked in their ears too. They had to undress to their underwear and he listened to, and tapped on their chest and back. They also needed to do a fake cough, which my 4 year old refused to do! He lifted their legs, (not sure for what purpose!) and then tapped on their reflexes. Asked generally how their health was but didn't enquire about any immunisations.
Blood tests were only needed from the adults and any child 11 or over needs a chest x-ray.

Hi,

Whilst the MMR isn't important for the medical, when my children started school here in Aus I had to show that all their immunisations were up to date, I brought the red book with me. I remember Cal in QLD saying she had to do this too.

We were the same. Our boys didnt have the MMR we paid for them to have the single vacines in the UK.

However here, they dont offer the single vacines and due to the requirement for school our 2 youngest who hadnt had all the single vacines had to have the MMR ready for when they do attend school.
