Visa lodged before 1 Sept?

Hi I've been reading some of the threads from yesterday and we are also in the postiion where our 136 visa was lodged on 30 August and we've had absolutely nothing back. Been complaining to agent but she said acknowledement should be any time but apparently this should not affect the length of time the visa will take in total. I think this sounds a bit unrealistic. She also added that our aim of being in Oz this June/July is unlikely. I was surprised to hear some of you saying you've been asked for police checks and medicals at this stage. Should we be getting these done now?? Thanks.

HEY SUSIE .... YOU MUST HAVE THE SAME AGENT AS US LOL .... DONT KNOW IF YOU READ OUT THREAD "NEW AGENT" UNDER GENERAL DILEMMAS BUT WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT . OUR VISA WAS LODGED 31ST AUG AND STILL NOT HEARD ANYTHING

GETTING REALLY FRUSTRATED BUT AGENT SAYS NOT TO WORRY ....
ALL I CAN SAY IS CHIN UP AND MAYBE NEXT WEEK

Hi Keily, I did read your thread on 'new agent' but think you have different one from us. Ours is ASA - we are all in the same boat but maybe were given bad info from the agents. What was point of rushing it thru for it to take longer. Really stupid. Have you had police checks, meds done??

I presume you are a paper application and not online, there are one or two in the same predicament as you waiting for acknowlodgment, i think you will hear very very soon, some of the later online applications are well ahead with their time lines compared to us paper paupers, just the way it panned out, i also think we (August applicants) are looking at July/August before we get visas .

Hi Susie ...no Not Had Meds Or Police Checks Done Yet ..... Not A Good Idea To Frontload Meds Without File Ref No Which Comes With Full Ack .... More Chance Of Them Getting Lost In System .... And We Cant Afford Any More Hiccups !!!!

Its good to know we're not on our own but not that I mean I wish this frustration on others!! We just want to know when to put house on market etc. My son would start primary school here in Aug and would be a shame for him to start school for few months.

Everyone seems to be going to Perth!! We are still undecided as to where to go. What are pros of Perth? Is it not much hotter than other places? We are going for good weather but 45 degrees plus too much.
