Anyone used Allied Pickfords?

Can anyone help? We have now had three companies round to quote for our shipping costs. All quotes were fairly similar so not much to go on with that. Have heard everyone raving about Crown but I didnt like their representative who came round to the house - too much like a sales person and slagging off the other companies who I had been in touch with. So I dont really want to go with them. Really liked Allied Pickfords rep so thinking of going with them but are we right to make a decision on this basis?!!! Both companies are also based in Sydney aswell as here in England. Any advice would be great - thanks!!!

Hi,

We used Allied Pickfords, and they were really good.

As you mentioned theny have offices over here in Australia, which I thought would help and I have to say that it did when we were trying to arrange delivery etc after customs clearance. The one thing that I would say is be very careful and make sure you take out the correct insurance (pairs/sets and mould/mildew damage).....which we did. We had some damage by customs (sliced open our leather sofa's) so just make sure that you have all the insurance you need, our insurance claim went without a hitch and we received settlement quite quickly.

Would definately recommend them.

Hope this helps.

Heather

We used John Mason and they were superby, I know what you mean about the rep - John Masons was so professional, he itemised everything we were taking so the quote would be acurate. The packers worked their socks off from 7.30 to way past 5pm
