Hi,

Do you know if it is possible to apply for a TFN before we leave? We have our visas and a permanent address in Australia for it to be sent to, however we will not be there until mid-feb.

Hi Marl

I believe that you have to be in the country before you apply but as you have a address I don't see why not. I think I read on here that someone else had applied for theirs whilst not being in Oz. If you wait until you get here it only takes approx 5 days to reach you.

Mrs B might look like a greehorn from her number of posts, but she is actually avery experienced and valued member of PiO. She got sick of of Mr B emptying their joint PMs in-box, so she has declared UDI from him for PiO purposes. Their joint account with PiO is called billy braveheart.

He's in bed in Oz and doesn't yet know what his Missus has been up to.......
