applying for jobs before we go

Hi,
Once your PR visa is approved , if you carn,t get a job in your chosen trade are you allowed to apply for different jobs or can you only apply for jobs that you were given a visa for.
I do know a male nurse who changed his job and is now working in the gold mines .but he did this once he was there as it payed a lot more money.
As the worry is now getting a job when we are there , i would like to apply for loads before we go.

Hi Sean Im Absolutely Positive [if You Have The Golden Ticket !!] That Once You Are There You Can Work At Whatever You Want .... Which Is A Bit Silly Really When You Have To Go Through All That Tra / Vettasses Stuff In The First Place !!!!.

If you have a skilled 136 visa, you can do whatever jobs you please once you get out to Oz.

Been looking on the Seek website and there are jobs in my profession in Melbourne ,but not many, and as it is going to be a couple of months before we can get there ,my wife and I were worried that there may not be a job to be had by then.This takes a lot off our minds as there are plenty of other jobs .
We have had an offer on our house,opened a bank account and transferred some money in with West Pac (are they a good bank),sold the car and bought a banger for the time been to use , so were not far away. We have done a lot of research on Melbourne and this is were we want to start out.
So Melbourne here we come.
