Manchester Medicals

Hi,

Anyone unsure whether to go to St John St in Manchester for medicals?

We had ours today with Dr. Smith and he was great. He made you feel at ease and was really good with the boys. Felt like we had known him a while.

Very straightforward. Nothing to worry about.

The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The good thing is you don't have to leave the building for your x ray, just another room.

Just thought I would let you know as saw thread other day regarding 'which Doctor to go to'.

Hope this can hep anyone who is a bit unsure.

Paul, Chelle, Josh (7) & George (2) Heywood, Greater Manchester:)

Hi, we had our meds there too, no problems as you said. We're from Oldham, so not too far from you. Where are you hoping to head to in Oz? We're on the Gold Coast. Good luck with your application, hope you don't have to wait too long for your visa to come.

Dr Smith

Hey Paul and family

Great news to hear that Dr Smith at John St is good, we are booked in with him in a fortnight, going to get the meds then get some Xmas shopping done in manchester as this will hopefully be the last Xmas in UK, depending on the results of course!

Just me and OH needing to be seen, no children, but I hope he is kind with us, I've been on a health kick for the last few months trying to be my optimum level of fitness so that they have no excuse to stop the process! Good to hear that it's straightforward, that will be a change compared to everything else we've had to contend with in this visa process! Good luck with it all x

Hi Joanne,

We are hoping to go to Adelaide. On a 136 visa. Paul an electrician.

Originally when started process in January we were going to Perth but my brother applied for Adelaide police force (he currently in lancashire police force) and passed and starts on March 31st so he and my sister in law and two children are going on March 1st so we thought well it be better to go nearer family whom we are close to and it will make the move a little easier .

We are just waiting for Police checks to come back then send those to our agent and then just wait to hear about visa!!! Hopefully not too long a wait as I believe there is a back log with Medicals in Sydney at moment.

Where are you up to??:)

Hi,

Yes he was really good and helpful. Nothing to be concerned about. we were there about an hour and a half.

We too spent day shopping. The German Markets in Manchester in Albert Square and St. Annes sq are nice. Good atmosphere.

We had case offficer assigned about 6 weeks ago and now just waiting our Police checks then we can send to our agent and just wait to hear about visa.

Good luck to you too.

Hi, I think it would be great to have family over here, we're on our own, and it was hard to get sorted out at first. We waited a couple of months I think after having our medicals, due to backlog at LCU as you say. Came on a 136 too, hubbie a brickie. Been here two months now, Gold Coast not Adelaide; my little girls playschool teacher from Oldham is also applying to go to Adelaide. Kids loving it, I'm sure yours will too, can play out nearly every day.

Good Luck, Joanne

Hi, only know a couple of people yet, through my hubbies work. I'm not working, so don't really meet anyone, at home with kids. He got work quite easily, trades in demand here; not sure about what its like in Adelaide though.
Took ages to sell our house, then a first time buyer came, and went through in a couple of months, so fingers crossed for you.
The suns lovely, could do without the humidity, but knew what we were signing up for I suppose!
Joanne x
