Question house sales

Hi, just having a moan. All the talk of a property crash is getting a bit much. Hope they dont crash. Cant stop thinking, without house sale it would be hard for us to go.
Is anyone else thinking the same. I know its Xmas time, fingers crossed things will pick up after.
Jane

Hi,

Yeah we are feeling the same as you, our house has been up for sale for about a month and only had 1 viewing, neighbours had theirs up for about 4 months and had 2 viewings. Estate agent assures us that they will sell after xmas as this time of year is very quiet. WE arent in any rush to get to Oz as I have to finish college course so we aint going tilnext june, but am starting to panic a bit now as we couldnt afford to go to oz without money from house!!!!!!! But aint worrying too much about it at the min. Good luck with your sale!!!

The U.K has had a sellers market for the last ten years:)
And according to some economists over valued by 50%
Which long term is unsustainable.

Sorry it is now a buyers market.
things may pick up a bit in spring but it will not last
The longer you wait to sell your house the bigger price
reduction you will have to take.

Next week,we are changing to our third estate agent, been on the market 10 months, only 4 viewers,we will stay with the new one for the minimum time which is 16 weeks,if it has not sold, then we are going to rent it out and go,i'm not prepared to wait any longer,we just can't keep our lives on hold forever,so we have made our minds up to go sometime in late May.

Th eproperty market is as bad as I have seen in twenty years much worse than the 'Crash' of the early 90's I typically sell 20 to 25 properties a month last month I sold just 2!!!!
I have to sell in January myself so frankly am not happy BUT, Iam on my second application for OZ the first one that would have had me selling in boomtime last March would have meant me selling at considerably less than I will this coming spring
Put into perspective anyone selling now is selling at vastly more than they would have done a year ago which was in turn vastly more that the average OZ property
Moral of the storey is be grateful reduce your price do not be greedy look at the 'Grand scheme of things'

We are hoping to put ours on market in Jan and have to say I am dreading it .

We have a lovely large edwardian terrace that in the spring were being snapped up at a rate of knots if only we had done it then.

There are a couple round the corner from us a bit smaller that haven't sold despite being on market for a few months.

We put the feelers out to a great guy who runs the corner shop him and his large family live in a flat above the shop hubby asked him if he wanted to buy it and amazinglyhe looked keen

Won't rely on it though.

I know someone who is manager of a local estate agents she says the markets dead at one time she didn't have to advertise flats she had because they were snpapped up straight away now she has to put them in the window.

We are however still getting leaflets pushed through the door from estate agents hope thats a good sign.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.
