Hi we had letter through for practical test now also December 10th. (Electrician). We have had to email them though as we wanted London and they have allocated us Birmingham! We live nearer to London and could drive! Don't know if they've got their geography mixed up so hoping they will change it. Otherwise will have to stay in hotel, as we live near Gawick

Our letter said it may take up to 2 days! We didn't realise this, what do you make of that? It's not clear if it will be or not so don't know what to think. Didn't realise would have to take tools either.

Anyway with all being well will be glad to get it over and done with, though nervous and there is no one to ask about it who's done it before!

Good luck with yours!

As a fellow sparky I wish you the best of luck and I'm sure that it will be an insult to your intelligence and experience.

I can't see any 'trade test' for a sparky being any more than an AM2.

All the best Tom

Good Luck with your test - its a bit difficult being the 1st ones to do them and not knowing what to expect isn't it. But like Tom the Pom says they can't be that hard for any people who are actually in the trades they say they are - they probably just netting the fakers hey.

All the best

Thanks for the replies. Just to let you know that Electricians are not tested from London, not sure about other ares but it seems just Birmingham, so Phil has to go there next week and pay for hotels etc! Never mind, will just be glad to get it out of the way!!
