Flights with Double Luggage Weight

Hi all, i can fineally at long last ask questions for information needed

Can anyone tell me what Airlines allow you double the baggage weight if you are going one way and if they allow it for a 457 temp visa? Also are they well reccommended.

Hi Lynne
I know that Singapore and Emirates offer this facility. I was speaking with Emirates on Friday regarding this as we're looking to fly out on Christmas day and wanted to confirm the baggage allowance. I was told if you book a one-way flight and have a permanent visa you can check in 40kg per passenger. My best suggestion is to talk to the airlines, they can only say no!
Good Luck and congrats on the visa

Hi Lynne

We travelled out on a 457 visa in August with Emirates & you only get the standard allowance of 20-25kg (cant remember if 20 or 25) as its not classed as a perm visa (how daft is that??). But I would recommended Emirates to fly with.

Hi
If you can get hold of a moving planet cd which pss give out, you can get discounted air flights with emirates and 50kg of luggage allowance each. You have to have pss to quote you on removals though.

Godd luck

Tracy

go via USA. We went london - LA ; LA - Auckland and Auckland to Brissie.

Their STANDARD weight allowance is 2 bags each at 32kg per bag so standard = 64kg EACH!! Got to be worth the extra few hours travelling. (Its a bit longer going that way!)

Hi Lyn
They should have given you a moving planet cd, ring them up for it and they will send it to you, not many people know about it so if you don't ask you don't get.
Good luck

Tracy

Hey Lynne,

The Moving Planet CD Rom is well worth getting your hands on. We booked our flights through Emirates via the moving planet site and got 50kg of luggage. I used every last gram available in my suitcase and was so grateful. That extra 10kg each was certainly worth it. Well it wasn't really each, Mr B only got to use about 30kgs, the rest was all mine!!!!

In order to get the allowance we booked online, had to email the details and visa pages of our passports and then wait for a confirmation email. Mr B had to collect the tickets from an Emirates office (luckily Birmingham airport wasn't too far away from us at that time) and he confirmed then that we had the extra luggage allowance.

Bet it feels good to be finally sorting out your flights!

Felicity
