Question Skills Assessment due to expire!

Hi
We are awaiting our Case Officer (ack rec 7th Sep 07) for 138 sponsored visa and my teach australia skills assessment expires 13th Dec 07. If we are allocated a CO after this date will they advise me to get the skills assessment done again?

Thanks
Dugong

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think you will need to get a new one done if you don't have a CO before it expires. Have you frontloaded meds and police checks? You may be lucky and get through before the expiry date but I would definitely be in touch with Teach Australia to check and ask what would be required if you needed to re-apply.

I had to re-submit my skills assessment when the assessment body for teachers was NOOSR. I had failed my first assessment and they said I only needed to send new information or evidence as all the rest had been held on file and I could use the previous case number I had been issued. This may be the same for Teach Australia, submit an application but not the documents. I do hope you don't need to do this though - it's another cost you could do without at this stage!

Hi
Thanks for your reply. We are awaiting our police checks but have been a bit hesitant in booking our medicals. Some advice was front load, other advice was wait until you are instructed and give the backlog chance to catch up...so going to ring on Friday ("when the lady that sorts out that stuff is in!") and get them booked!! I will def. contact Teach Australia and see what advice they can give me.

I hope you are settling into your new life well. I have read lots of your posts with interest, especially being a fellow teacher. Have you manged to secure a teaching post yet?

Thanks again
Rachel
