Choice of Visa - which is quickest?

Hi All, can anyone offer advice?

I'm awaiting TRA approval for my 'MODL' recognized application, after which I have to decide between two visa options.

1. I have a family member to sponsor my skilled independent application (I believe it's a 176 (?)) which will involve delays with correspondence etc... or

2. I can sit a IELT test, for which I have to wait until mid January and then wait another two weeks for the results, which means 2 months wasted just waiting to be given the nod to say that I can communicate in my native language, and then apply for a 175 visa without the need to be sponsored.

Which one is likely to be processed the quickest? Am I better off waiting for the test or going with a family sponsor?

Anyone else in a similar dilemma?

Hi there,

If you apply online i would say the 176 as you can get in the queue now. I don't think it has been any different online for the 175 or 176....

Cheers
Ally
