Have booked our meds for 19th December (frontloaded as we will be just over 10 months into our application for a CPV)
Just had a thought that if bloods take a week to come back the hospital we are having our meds done closes on 21st Dec until 2nd Jan so was thinking maybe out to bring meds forward a week or so - so at least when the bloods come back they will get couriered off to Sydney before xmas - what does anyone think.
Is the LCU unit in Sydney not closed for xmas anyway....not sure just a thought.
If it was me I would be tempted to leave it til the new year that way your meds wont get stuck in christmas post rush or hang around waiting for any opening hours.
All the waiting is frustrating I know, we just want to get it all done
Maybe, but we may delay in getting an appointment in the new year even more as the hospital will not have its diary for new year this early i have been told.
At least by getting it done earlier than 19th they will be over there waiting for the LCU to start up again in the New Year
I'm inclined to agree with Kaye. The difficulty with getting the Meds done before yu get a COO is that if anything shows up on the chest x-rays, they might only give you six months in which to validate the visa.
Australia doesn't move very fast during January because the children are on holday from school until the end of the month, so a lot of COs take the Christmas & New Year break off and then add on a bit of annual leave on top during Jan.
I know this is not what you want to hear but it is better to err on the side of caution, I reckon. I know how agonising the wait it - I've done it. But hey, what's an extra month out of the whole of the rest of yur lives?
Good luck, though, whichever way you decide to jump about this.
Maybe I will just leave them as they are then. Our Agent did say when I told her we had booked them that it would be about right and fall in line with getting a CO.

I'll put my pennyworth in.....................
I think........... leave them as they are, plan to send them over after xmas, I would always courier (but it did cost me £70!) because I have no faith in the post at all
our bloods took the full 10 days to come back, meds done on 8th Oct, bloods got back to Doc's on 19th and we couriered them that day, they arrived on 22nd and now we are waiting..................................
As Gill said you don't want them there too early and then have to do them all over again.
take care

Thanks for all your replies. I am going to sit tight and leave them as they are, after all what is another couple of weeks out of a lifetime of waiting hahaha
Caz, any good organisation will have their 2008 diary's. I know I'm booking in review dates for my patients in the new year and have mine. If they say they don't have theirs tell them you find it hard to believe.

Mark likes what Whisky LARFILLLIN - LARGALULL - LUVALAGA - sorry cant even pronounce it let alone spell it hahahaha.
I am sticking with the dates we have for meds as the police checks are going to take 40 days plus (because of xmas and new year anyway) so like you say patience.
Looking forward to stepping off the plane next year with a poster that says those three little words - no not "I LOVE YOU" but "WE LIVE HERE" just like you did after your first two weeks in Oz. Didn't I tell you, you would absolutely love it there and wasn't Mummy right hehehe.
