Hi Paula
Your question is a bit different from the one dibdob has asked.
As to how long your Meds will take to process,, there is a backlog at the LCU at the moment. Easrlier this week I heard from a reliable source that they are curently proocessing Meds received on 28th September for
PR visas.
The LCU log the dates on which they receive the Meds but they tend not to show up on the system until they have either been procesd or gave been referred to the MOC for a decision.
The LCU have now taken on extra staff and are working 7 days a wek to try to shift the backlog odf meds files and they are slowly suceeding but progress is still slower than everyone including themslves would wish for. I'd say that you will be able to find out the score with your own meds in about 6 weeks time. You can do that by completing the LCU's o-lline enquiry form if you have the reference number for your application (which presumably you have because you applied on line.) You hvae to give them chapetr and vertse in order to get any information back from them, but please see here:

As to when yo are likely to hear frm a CO, the best thing to do is to send a completely blank e-mail to
aspc.processing@immi.gov.au. Literally, you need nothing except their address, because your e-mail will genrate an autoreply, usualy with haaa couple of hous.
I sent them one of these auto e-mails this morning, uessing thatt the extract I copied and pasted off BE yesterday had reached the guy via the auto e-mail route.
The actual auto-reply is actually much longer than the bit the guy from BE quoted, so I think the best thing for you to do is to get your own copy of it because it is easier to follow if you have the whole thing in your hand, I reckon, hence I would encourage you to send for your own copy of it. (This is also why I deleted my first reply to dibdob.)
From what you have said, it sounds like you have applied for the new subclass 175 visa, but yo'll neeed to check that because I steer clear of skilled visas.
Get the e-mail and then come back to me if I can help further, I would suggest.
I think dibdob shold get a copy of this e-mail as well if s/he has applied for a visa that is processd by the ASPC,.
The ASPC update the information every Tuesday, so you'll need to get an updated version of the information then.
Cheers
Gill.
