Another Newbie
Hi everyone on PIO, we have been reading the entries now for some time and have found them very useful, we have decided to logon now to ask some of our own questions.
We are going thro an agent who at the time we started the process said our only avenue was on a 495 SIR Provisional Visa for South Australia due to being 5 points short.

Is anyone else on this type of Visa?

We started the process Dec 06 when we first contacted our agent
TRA submitted 28th Mar 07
TRA granted 24th April 07
SIR submitted 25th May 07
SIR granted 25th June 07
Visa sent to ASPC Adelaide 8th Aug, confirmed receipt 10th Aug

Since then nothing, every day seems like a week, you never know we might get lucky next week.

Don't know much about 495, we're applying for a 175 skilled independant. I was 5 points short for this type, but have just passed the IELTS test & gained 10 extra points! Good luck with the rest of your wait! Hopefully you'll hear something soon.

we are going on my skills on a 136 (fingers crossed) We nearly went on a state sponsored visa but my job was put on the modl just as we started which gave me 5 points over what was needed

I am sure someone here will be going on the same visa as you
