Driving Licence

Morning All.

Can anyone answer a question for me please. What do we do to obtain an Australian Driving Licence. I know that we can drive on ours for 3 months. What happens once we do.,

Each state will be different but in QLD you go to a queensland transport office and swap your UK for an Oz one! Easy as that! No tests in QLD

PS why can't I get the smiles to work

This is how it is in WA, and very similar in other states.
You go to your local traffic office, fill in the paperwork, have an eye test, have a mugshot, pay your money then they give you an interim license, your proper card domes in the mail. Take your passports with you and any other id you might have.

We made an appointment to go to Vic roads, took id and UK driving licences and changed them over there and then. We did this the first week we were here and it was so simple - no tests here either.

Thanks for your replys, Good to hear that I will not have to do another driving test.

Also the smiles are still not working Jo. and that is on a reply to threads.

Going out tonight for Celebrations, not really in the mood, feeling so sad after seeing my mum. She said " Today has to be the last time I see you, I cannot bear to say goodbye to you anymore".

Just don't no what to do about seeing her before we fly off on Monday. I don't want to hurt her,but I need to see her. I suppose I have to respect what she say's.

I cjust no tonight will be so sad, my daughter will be there, other 2 sons are away.... O my god what am I to do.

try and enjoy tonite you wont get to do it again it is just so hard . i am dreading this part as i know mum and dad will be heartbroken when we do go .

To get the lovely smilies you have to:

Go to top of page, on left hand side click on 'user cp'
Click 'edit options'
Go right to bottom of page to 'misc options'
Click on box and choose 'enhanced interface - full WYSIWYG editing'
Then click 'save changes'
